The Village

Discover the historical centre of this picturesque village, starting at the Plátanos  Boulevard, without forgetting the Museu dos Terceiros, installed in the monumental complex formed by the ancient Santo António dos Capuchos Convent and the Third Order of Saint Francis building. Of the vast built heritage, the towers of S. Paulo and the Chain, the Senhora da Penha de França Chapel, the Parish and Lapa churches, the Camões Square Fountain and the Public Library stand out. Still in the village, it is suggested to visit CIHM – Interpretation Centre of Ponte de Lima Military History, a live and interactive museum, installed in the Paço do Marquês; And to the CIPVV - Centre for Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde, in the Barbosa Aranha Manor House, a space that promotes and presents this product of excellence to all who like to enjoy a good wine. Crossing the medieval bridge, Arnado Park is another mandatory stop, with several themed gardens, natural labyrinths where it is a pleasure to get lost and the new CIT – Interpretation Centre of the Territory, which responds to an imperious need for the immaterial heritage inventory of this territory. This walk would not be complete without visiting the lovely riverside area, with its fluvial beach and the Nautical Centre/Marina. Don't forget to sneak a peek at the International Garden Festival that takes place from May to October and displays 12 temporary gardens that are renewed annually by several creators.
