The Bertiandos and S. Pedro de Arcos Lagoons Protected Landscape Area

Located 4 km from the village’s centre, the Bertiandos and S. Pedro de Arcos Lagoons (BSPAL) cover Bertiandos, S. Pedro de Arcos, Estorãos, Moreira do Lima, Sá and Fontão. With a total area of 350 hectares, nestled into amazing surroundings and adorned by a diversity of vegetation species, natural pastures and meadows, BSPAL are the mirror of the elegance and freshness that only water can portray. With a Centre for Environmental Interpretation this is the ideal starting point for who wants to know everything about the main characteristics and values of this protected area and wetland of international significance. Supported by the Pentieiros Farm, this area is also equipped with some accommodation options (camping park, lodge, bungalows, shelters), a pedagogical farm, a forest and outdoor swimming pools. It also offers several trails to visitors, designed so that everyone can make them without great physical effort. In this way we can focus on the landscape, flora and fauna. Another interesting aspect of these trails is the interconnection between nature and the surrounding settlements, allowing a contact with the architectural reality of the region. This is the perfect place to spend one or more days in the outdoors and in direct contact with Mother Nature's best.
