Home The Region Municipalities Leisure Tradition Eating out? Sleeping out?
White reflected luminous beaches are Caminha’s trademark and, obviously, a great tourist attraction. Born close to Minho, this municipality conveys the purity of the river and ocean’s waters. Caminha’s scenery is very medieval, but the dynamism of modern times is also noticeable, with numerous recreational areas, lookouts and its Olive Oil and Moor Routes to discover. The summer months reveal a sparkling night life right in the historical centre, where delicious seafood, lobster and fresh fish recipes can be enjoyed, without forgetting roasted kid “à Serra d’Arga”  or jams and liqueurs. Its colourful handicraft makes it difficult to choose between “Festival Arts” (“palmitos”), wooden artefacts, linen, embroidery, the regional costumes, tin and copper-works. In essence, Caminha is one of those paradisiacal places that everyone wishes to go one day.
