Argontim Mills In the parish of Rego, the banks of the River Bugio guard devices from olden days. There are several mills, a water powered sawmill, a watermill and even a still – treasures of yesteryear that have been skilfully restored so that the force of the water continues to mill, to saw and even sharpen blades. In the midst of such wonderful serenity, the developments that modernity and progress demand are also visible. In this case the creation of the Argontim Mills Tourist Circuit and the Montelongo Plateau Museological Nucleus, with its doors open at the weekend or at other times, by appointment. In a place where the value of the earth is vital for the quietness of a life without hurries, the invitation is to (re)visit whenever possible. |
