Villages of Portugal

Located in the heart of Cabreira Mountain, the villages of Agra, Campos, Espindo, Lamalonga and Louredo, classified as villages of Portugal, seduce those who visit them and awaken the will to return. Agra (in Rossas) is a typical village with granite houses, granaries and barns, signs of a rural tradition that continue to live on. In Campos, a transition village between Minho and Trás-os-Montes, it is worth discovering the built heritage, agricultural and livestock activities, hunting and fishing. The same can be said of Lamalonga (in Campos), where there is a highland community that still joins around the furnace and local watermills. Louredo is not far behind in beauty with its magnificent views over the Gerês Mountain range, the Cávado river and the Caniçada Lagoon. The picturesque village of Espindo (in Ruivães) with its narrow and steep alleys and houses of granite, preserves until today a strong community spirit.  All these villages are perfect scenery for those who seek to enjoy nature and the simple pleasures of country life. In view of the creation of tourism units in rural areas and restaurants, all of them had their traditional buildings rehabilitated, which allowed to revitalize the local economy, preserve traditions and contribute to the maintenance of built heritage.
