The Village A web of small streets, with attractive 16th, 17th and 19th century houses, City Hall and the Parish Church, lead to the very sought out Poets’ Garden. By the Garden you will find the Fernão de Magalhães Interpretive Centre where the history and territory of Ponte da Barca can be explored as well as discover more about one of the most illustrious “Terras da Nóbrega” son: Fernão de Magalhães. Close by rises an imposing and interesting Manueline Pillory and the “Pombalino” Market, where the beautiful bridge of the XV century that gives the name to the village can be seen. Its benches, together with its vast riverside park, are an invitation for reading or good conversation, great for picnics or walks, making this the perfect place for some well spent moments.
