The Village

One of Arcos de Valdevez’s most interesting courses can and should be explored in the heart of the village. With several manor houses, churches and other small religious temples, without forgetting the old 19th century bridge, exclusively for pedestrians, the walk also takes us to the riverside area. The Vez River and other natural riches converge to provide a calm and unique atmosphere, ideal for resting, strolling or for enjoying its fluvial beach. For those who prefer other types of spaces, you’ll find, close by, the Municipal Swimming Pools complex and the Casa das Artes (“House of Arts”). Stage of many projects related to cultural and artistic production in such diverse areas such as cinema, music, plastic art and theatre, enter the doors of this 18th century house to read a book in the library, watch a concert, participate in a workshop or to simply enjoy a cup of coffee.
